Roland Geisler

Roland Geisler currently serves as Head of Marketing & Strategy for Nokia and is responsible for global marketing and strategy for the mobile browser for S60 smart phones. Geisler joined Nokia in 2001, and has held various management positions in Europe and the US including technology manager for the R&D department developing the S60 open source browser, project manager for a number of mobile application software projects, and development partner manager for Opera Software, a Nokia software supplier. Before Geisler joined Nokia he worked as a product manager and software engineer at Gigabeat (acquired by Napster, NASDAQ: NAPS) in the Silicon Valley. Prior to this, he was a research assistant at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) and the computer science department at the University of Illinois. Geisler earned a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the Munich University of Technology in Germany.
