Leigh Dodds

Ingenta

Leigh Dodds is an Engineering Manager employed by Ingenta where he is responsible for the ongoing development of the IngentaConnect website, a large aggregation of academic research content. Leigh has been developing with Java, XML, and Semantic Web technologies for a number of years and has released several small open source applications and APIs. He has also contributed code and documentation to several open source projects. As a freelance author Leigh has written articles and tutorials to sites including xmlhack, XML.com, and IBM developerWorks. He has presented at several XML conferences, and acted as technical reviewer for a number of books covering core XML technologies.Leigh is based in Bath, UK.

This paper will review the SPARQL specifications and its potential benefits to Web 2.0 applications. Focusing on the SPARQL protocol for RDF, the paper will provide implementation guidance for developers interested in adding SPARQL support to their APIs.
