Thomas Meinike

Merseburg University of Applied Sciences / Department Computer Science and Communication Systems

Thomas Meinike was born 1965 in Halle (Saale), Germany. He studied physical chemistry at the TH Merseburg and the University of Halle, where he obtained his diploma and a further graduation to Dr. rer. nat. (PhD). Afterwards he specialized in information and web technologies with a high affinity to XML related topics. Since 1997 he is a teacher for online documentation and web development at the Hochschule Merseburg (University of Applied Sciences) in Germany. In the last years he gave lectures and wrote articles about SVG development and a lot of code too (see his website at http://svglbc.datenverdrahten.de).

Mozilla Firefox 1.5 came out including a native SVG implementation. In the context of other technologies like JavaScript, XML and XSLT it’s possible to create graphical content on the fly. Basic facts and practical know-how will be presented.
