Ajax day St. John 2

XUL and especially AJAX seem to be buzzwords nowadays and got declared as hypes already in some cases. What happens if these Technologies are bound in a framework, a project is started and a company makes year long future plans on them, you’ll hear in this talk as well as we utilize the special Attributes of these technologies to minimize time to market as well as a maximum usability and performance.

Nowadays we are developing applications with 10 Developers for Sixt Car Rental. In comparsion to the companies IT-Systems overall number of Applications these are still limited to a small subset of users, but as functionality grows the area of usage gets wider. What Attributes must a IT-Landscape have to be XULarized and setup with a effective Team ? What dependencies exist inbetween the enterprise Systems and the Opensource Frontends and how are high-level Requirements fullfilled by free software ? How does the Ajax thing work in a Enterprise. Some of these questions might be answered in this track and maybe we can reveal a bit of the reasons why sixt favourized the XUL Technology over others like Java and Powerbuilder.
