Putting IBM databases on Rails

Applications Grand Ballroom

IBM is the inventor of the relational database technology. DB2 and Informix databases power most of the large enterprise data stores. IBM Cloudscape (Apache Derby) is a premiere open source database. However, “IBM databases” is not the first thing that comes to mind to most people when they think Ruby on Rails, XML, Web Services and other web 2.0 technologies. We have several projects that will change this. This session will talk about these projects, what they mean to the Ruby on Rails enthusiasts, and the open source community in general.
